Event Medical TeamFirefighters Crossing Borders

Jordan Pollack has been involved with the humanitarian group Firefighters Crossing Borders since 2008. Coordinating a cadre of fire and rescue instructors from three countries, he is a regional representative for the organization.

Jordan is the originator and coordinator of the Sinaloa Fire Training Symposium which brings 100 statewide firefighters annually. He is also president and project coordinator of the Zachary Chambers Foundation, a non-profit group focused on development of emergency services for the Bahia de Banderas region north of Puerto Vallarta. This organization was developed in the name of Zack Chambers, a local graphic artist and silk screener from Port Townsend who lost his life in the surf of Sayulita in 2010. Through the foundation Jordan coordinates a lifeguard school in Sayulita each year in conjunction with instructors from Surf Lifesaving del Sur and Firefighters Crossing Borders.

Working with local and regional fire authorities, Jordan and others are working on development of policies, instruction, equipment, and vehicles. In 2012 alone, 6-8 emergency vehicles filled to capacity with fire, rescue, and EMS equipment and supplies were migrated to Mexico as part of various projects.
